We can build our arts organizations on stronger foundations. I’m here to help.

Way (n.)

Old English weg "road, path; course of travel; room, space, freedom of movement;" also, figuratively, "course of life" especially, in plural, "habits of life" as regards moral, ethical, or spiritual choices, from Proto-Germanic *wega- "course of travel, way".

Mentor (n.)

"wise adviser, intimate friend who also is a sage counselor." The name perhaps ultimately means "adviser," because in form it is an agent noun of mentos "intent, purpose, spirit, passion."

Meet The Wayfinding Sessions |

Mentorship for Arts Administrators

  • STEP ONE: DISCOVERY

Discovery is all about you, the organization, and the work you need to do. It begins with a fun and empowering process designed to discover who you are, what motivates you, and what sets you back. Next, we look at the purpose and structure of your organization, your role, where your comfort level is, and where you need support. This process will be the foundation of our work together.

  • STEP TWO: SETTING THE PATH

Informed by our work together in the discovery process, I map out a strategic path with milestones that propel you forward, with stops along the way to meet any roadblocks with gusto and compassion. Milestones will be met with pre-established rewards. Our clearly defined scope will help keep us on track.

  • STEP THREE: THE WORK OF WAYFINDING

This is where the work gets done! Along the path, you will be given small micro-learnings and one-to-one working sessions via Zoom, designed especially for you and your specific personal and professional needs and work schedule. This includes a focused check-in (s) each month, to measure our progress and make any course corrections.

  • STEP FOUR: ARRIVING

Here, we take a look at where we started, and where we have arrived. We'll celebrate the progress you've made - personally and professionally - and we'll wrap up our time with a visioning session that will keep you on your path.

THE WAYFINDING SESSIONS ARE FOR YOU IF:

  • You hold a position that exceeds your current level of experience and need some skilled support.

  • You are in a leadership position for an arts organization and feel overwhelmed.

  • You do not have the capacity to mentor or support new or existing staff.

  • Your organization runs effectively day to day but needs guidance on building capacity to meet event-specific needs (festivals, exhibitions, retail galleries)

  • You are new to the organization and/or community and need experienced support as you navigate your way through a learning curve.

  • You could benefit from the trust and expertise of a seasoned professional that understands the important balance required to make it all work, and can help you realize your potential as a leader or valuable team member.

WHAT WE’LL BUILD TOGETHER

  • Knowledgeable, supported, empowered staff

  • Capacity to share knowledge within the organization

  • Stronger relationships and networks

  • Stable systems and policies

  • More funds allocated to art, artists, and arts programs

  • Strong leadership

Working with Lynn

Whether you are an artist or an arts administrator, there is no one pathway to flourishing in the arts.

I created THE WAYFINDING SESSIONS to set you on a self-determined path, align your values with your goals, and work through roadblocks as you pursue your creative passions.

Depending on where you’re starting and where you’re struggling, we’ll personalize our sessions to the guidance that’s most valuable for you.

This isn’t a program you squeeze into; it’s a program we design together to fit you perfectly over a course of time, or a single session.

HOW IT WORKS:

  1. Book a session that best suits your needs.

  2. I’ll confirm the time with a Zoom link, and we’ll chat.

  3. If you’d like to continue, we’ll talk options and get started.
